EVALUATION. part 2.

EVALUATION.
Part 2.
How does your media product represent particular social groups?

When first planning my music magazine I straight away knew I wanted to reach out to a young and hip audience, I wanted this as being young myself I would be able to connect with my work and enjoy it, so I therefore chose hip-hop as my genre. My audience ranges between bother genders and age range between 15-30 yrs old. This at first worried me as I am reaching to an audience of minors and adults, so I had to keep it appropriate for the minors but yet still satisfying for the 18+. Although this at first was an issue knowing there were boundaries I could only go to without my images or text being inappropriate, I soon learnt ways of keeping it pleasurable for all audience members.

The stereo typical view on hip-hop isn't at all portrayed well in the publics eye, often linked with sex, drugs and violence. Although I have strong disbelief in the way hip-hop is portrayed, and I do aspire to change that, I am aware of what sells and what makes money so I therefore stuck with the typical portrayal of hip-hop.
